Anderson v1 pg445 - letter #462

Dear Friend and Brother!

You wrote to me recently, and I am now writing to you again –– no doubt you are delighted about all the victories –– and about mine also –– On February 27th I am giving a second concert in the Grosser Redoutensaal – Do come in for it – now you know about it – In this way I shall gradually work my way out of my misery, for I have not yet received a single kreuzer of the contributions to my income – Schuppanzigh has written to Mihalkovicz to find out whether it would be worth our while to go to Ofen.   What do you think?  Of course our performance would have to take place in the theatre – My opera is also going to be staged, but I am revising it a good deal – I hope that you live contentedly; that is certainly no small gain.  As for me, why, good heavens, my kingdom is in the air.   As the wind often does, so do harmonies world around me, and so do things often world about too in my soul – I embrace you --
